If you’re a fan of electronic dance music, you obviously would be acquainted with Hardwell’s
music. Hardwell played a major role in the boom that EDM saw in 2012-2013. It’s safe to say
that a lot of Hardwell’s contribution to the music industry has shaped what the EDM audience
likes and listens to.
He was voted number 1 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ poll and maintained the position in 2014. In
2017, Hardwell was voted number 4 on the list. Not only is his music phenomenal, but Hardwell
has used his position and talent to help other musicians rise in the field as well.
In his weekly podcast “Hardwell On Air” (HOA), Hardwell presents a selection of songs by
various artists that fall into the elecro-, progressive or house categories. His podcasts also feature
hardstyle tracks as well. With this, he is definitely contributing immensely to the EDM
community.
Hardwell is quite the celebrity and has been an inspiration to aspiring musicians and producers
everywhere. Hasit Nanda is one such pianist. For Hasit, Hardwell’s music was his entry ticket to
making a career in the electronic dance music industry. His music is so close to Hasit’s heart that
it made him take a major career decision.
In 2013 and 2014, Hasit started covering EDM tracks on piano and was the first pianist to make
his own renditions of fast paced EDM songs- and they really did well. So well that on a highly
unexpected day in September 2014, Hasit realized that Hardwell had noticed his cover for the
then unreleased track, “Young Again”. Hardwell was indeed very happy with the cover.
That was 2014. In December 2015, Hasit even got a chance to play at a “Tribute To Hardwell”
pre-party in Mumbai before Hardwell’s “World’s Biggest Guest List” event. And two years later
in December 2017, Hasit performed at the “World’s Biggest Guest List” festival at the largest
main stage in Asia.
From a fan to someone who has been appreciated by Hardwell and has had the fortune to meet
him, Hasit has definitely come a long way. His journey definitely proves that if you dream it, you
can do it!
